Background: Hypertension is a growing global problem and a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Managing hypertension requires lifestyle changes, including adherence to the DASH diet. Nutrition education through visual media plays an important role in increasing the knowledge and adherence of people with hypertension. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of DASH diet educational media specifically infographics, flip charts, and hand fans on knowledge and adherence to the DASH diet among hypertensive patients. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The educational media intervention was administered to 3 groups using different types of media over a 1-week period: infographics, flip charts, and hand fans. Data on knowledge and adherence were collected via questionnaires before and after the intervention. Analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon test and the Paired Sample T-test. Results: All three educational media showed a significant increase in knowledge among respondents (infographics p=0.006; leaflets p=0.007; hand fans p=0.011). For the compliance variable, the flip chart provided a significant increase (p=0.007), while the infographics (p=0.140) and hand fans (p=0.553) did not show significant changes. Conclusion: Infographics, flip charts, and hand fans are effective in increasing knowledge of the DASH diet. Regarding DASH diet adherence, only the flip chart was shown to produce a significant improvement.
