Abstract

Background: Patients with overweight or obesity occur in developing countries with more than 115
million people. The percentage of the elderly who are overweight and obese has increased quite high. It
was shown that the increase in the elderly affected by overweight and obesity was 2.51%-9.64% in each
each age category. Objective: This study aims to see and measure behavioral changes in the influence of
physical activity on weight loss in overweight individuals, especially in late-age adults and early elderly.
Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test. The research method
used purposive sampling. The knowledge variable used a knowledge questionnaire about physical
activity, while the physical activity attitude variable was measured using the IPAQ questioner. A total of
30 respondents, 10 respondents on infographic educational media, 10 respondents on calendar media,
and 10 respondents on video media. Body weight data was measured before and after being given
educational media during the study period. Data were processed using Wilcoxon test and paired sample
t-test. Results: The results showed an increase in knowledge and changes in physical activity attitudes in
each respondent characterized by p-value results <0.05. Conclusion: Physical activity education media
has a positive effect on increasing knowledge and changing physical activity attitudes in individuals in
doing regular physical activit
